Joe Turrisi has been retired for close to 15 years, but the memories
linger here in WSTM studios and beyond.On-air, you'll remember
Turrisi as "Harry the Hack," the crazy cab driver who made
predictions about Syracuse University games and other sports.Most
of his work was done behind the scenes.Joe was our studio and
floor manager at NBC3, where he started his career in October of
1953.  He was a key behind the scenes player in creating "Monster
Movie Matinee"  and "Bowling for Dollars" at Channel 3.  Turrisi was
featured in a recently completed documentary about the innovative
horror movie show hosted by Dr. E. Nick Witty. He lived in Eastwood
and Sylvan Beach, where he was unofficially known as The Mayor
