Mark Philp has retired after 38 years at News
Channel 9 in 2008. We want to wish him the
best of luck during his retirement.
Mike Price retirement from NewsChannel 9 WSYR-TV
in 2008. Mike joined “Colorful Channel 9” as a staff
announcer on Sept. 2, 1962, one week before the
station signed on the air for the first time. Mike was our
first President of our local and had been a member  
since the inception of Local 211 in 1972. He has
worked at Channel Nine for 46 years.

Employee Free Choice Act  - What the Bill Would Do
Retireies  at the NABET-CWA Local 211 2009 Clam Bake
William J. Button, 77, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully
Sunday at home with his family by his side. William was retired
from WSYR-TV and was a Korean War veteran, serving in the
U.S. Navy. William is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three sons, Tim
and Tom of East Syracuse and William J. Jr. of MA; two
grandchildren, William IV (Johnny) and Erika; and several nieces
and nephews.
